Soho is a small multicultural area in central London, in the West End. It was known to be an entertainment district and nowadays it is known more as a district of media offices and upmarket restaurants. Industry, culture, commerce and entertainment can all be found in this district.

The area was initially used by the Royal Court as a hunting park. During the 1900s it had a Bohemian air having writers, actors and artists living here. In recent times immigrants started to move in and bars and brothels started to emerge. The situation changed starting 1980s when media offices were built and high-class restaurants appeared. Some scattered shops still remember the colorful history of Soho.

Soho is also the place where music business started to prosper: many bars had live performed music and each of them were ‘specialized’ only on one music genre: jazz, rock, skiffle, etc. Today, Soho has the highest density of restaurants, bars and clubs in central London; it is really the vibrant heart of the city. London’s main gay village is situated in this area. Soho is also a center of independent film industry and home of Soho Theatre and of the British Board of Film Classification. St Patrick’s Church in Soho Square, St Anne’s Church and the Hare Krishna Temple are some religious sites worth being visited. Cafés are widely spread, making Soho a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee. As such, Hotels in Soho London are proud to welcome you in London and are wishing you a pleasant stay while we will be taking care of your accommodation.
