An establishment in London’s Chinatown. Recent upgrades have improved the lighting and increased the size of the wontons in the soup. Service is quick and not rude at all. The hor fun (flat rice noodles) has the classic slightly burnt taste only achievable in the fiery woks of an authentic Chinese restaurant. The salted fish in the fried rice had clumped but the chicken in it was super tender and the greens gave it a delicate flavour.
Paid £12 a huge portion of two different meats (crispy belly pork and barbecue pork) and rice. Really good food, and authentic to Hong Kong diners that are very “get in, eat fast, get out” style. Would definitely recommend if you want a quick, cheap and tasty meal. Would not recommend if you’re looking for a leisurely meal and amazing service (but also there’s no service charge, which is rare in London these days).
The decoration is like my high school canteen. I guess its a old school decoration style. They served hot tea instead of water, which is also very traditional. The service is quite efficient. I love the beef and egg fried rice( Cannot remember the exact name). There are quite a lot of beef in it. The roasted duck is not fatty. Maybe the duck went to gym a lot. Good value for price.
